About the Eye Clinic of Saarland University Hospital.

Prof. Dr. Berthold Seitz has been the director of our department of ophthalmology since 2006. Being the only University Eye Clinic in Saarland, it has the infrastructure of a maximum care clinic with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technologies. We offer the entire range of clinical ophthalmology services to our patients.

Outpatient clinics at a glance

As a clinic, we are also well equipped to provide outpatient care. There are the following areas:

Univerity outpatient clinic

In the outpatient clinic on the first floor, we treat diseases of the cornea, macula, retina and orbit, as well as glaucoma.

Private outpatient clinic

In the private outpatient clinic, various senior physicians and specialists are available for you on weekdays. It is independent of the university outpatient clinic.

Outpatient Surgical Center (AOZ)

A high-performance surgical center is available for outpatient interventions on the 1st floor of the eye clinic. Preliminary examinations, planning and implementation of outpatient interventions take place here.

IVOM Center

Our patients with macular diseases can receive intravitreal surgical drug insertions in our new IVOM center on the 2nd floor.
