Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

as a center of excellence for the detection and treatment of corneal ectasia, we would like to organize for the fourth time a symposium reflecting the current state of research on pathophysiology, (early) diagnosis and stage-appropriate therapy of keratoconus.

We have succeeded in attracting the international authorities in the field of keratoconus research Prof. Michael Belin from the USA and Prof. Renato Ambrósio from Brazil for an "International Keynote Lecture".

Since 2010, we have now included more than 2000 patients in our Homburg Keratoconus Center HKC and have followed up some eyes up to 15 times over 11 years.

All patients are consistently documented chronologically in our electronic patient record FIDUS according to the ABCD classification by Belin & Duncan. Pathophysiological and molecular biological aspects are investigated in our biological laboratory together with the Institute of Experimental Ophthalmology.

We are looking forward to welcoming you as guests and to interesting lectures and lively discussions.
