This international symposium aims to bring together basic researchers and clinicians to discuss new developments for the therapeutic use of various types of transplantations. The focus will be on four major areas: Solid Organs, Highlights In Translation, Eye, Immunology/Ethics.
The event will take place at the Saarland University Medical Center in Homburg and features 15 high-profile speakers. These international experts will present new approaches in the transplantation of liver, kidney, uterus, cornea, retinal pigment epithelium, pancreatic islets, faecal microbiota and bone marrow. The symposium is intended for interested clinicians to basic researchers and junior scientists.
On Thursday evening, Prof. Michael Menger, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, invites the public to attend his opening lecture to discuss the opportunities and limitations of translational research – “from bench to bedside“.
